In year 4, we have been working hard settling into the routines and being back into school.
We have started to look at extreme survival topic, thinking about how we might survive in different climates. To link with this foundation curriculum topic, we have been looking at a wide variety of books, including 'Tom Crean's rabbit' by Meredith Hooper and 'The lost book of adventure' by Teddy Kean.
Hedgehogs have already been learning new and exciting writer skills, which they have been using really thoroughly. In maths, we have been practicing our times tables, 9s are the ones we are practicing now - they have been really enthusiastic about this and are already using them with pace.
In computing, Hedgehogs have been using iMovie to create a movie all about Polar bears. Children have thoroughly enjoyed creating their own movies, adding in all the different styles, text and animations. They are starting to look really great, and I cant wait to see the final product.
Looking forward, we are doing lots of practice on our times table rock star accounts, the Hedgehogs have already become quite competitive with their leader board in the classroom. Make sure your children complete their homework!
