Autumn 2 - Art Gallery visit
Year 4 visit to Southampton Art Gallery.
Our half term's topic has focused on the different biomes of Africa. We have used collage to represent the different climates and landscapes. We visited Southampton Art Gallery to take part in a workshop, where we could explore new techniques for collage.
We used a selection of tissue paper and printing materials to make a collage of the traditional Ghanaian print Kente. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were really proud of our final product.
After the workshop, we had a chance to explore the gallery and see real life works of art, including collages, paintings, sketches and sculptures.
Visiting a gallery was also a key experience for our Learning for Lifetime curriculum, which we have now achieved successfully.
