Yes Minister

This term we have been learning about how our Government works.  We discovered how people are represented in the House of Commons and Lords as well as how laws are made.  We learnt about the responsibility of an MP.  At the beginning of Spring 2, we learnt about Local Government and visited the Mayor's office in Havant.  We were very fortunate to meet with Mrs Mayor Rosy Raines.

In our English we began with creating voice over scripts about the life of wolves.  We discussed the images we hold about wolves, particulary how they are represented in traditional Fairy Stories.  Following this we moved onto an English Unit which the children loved.  Creating a Horror Story from a traditional Fairy Story.  Their imaginations ran wild and the finished results were genuinely quite scary.

Did you know...

1. Wolves use dens for the rearing of their young. Dens are sometimes constructed out of the vacated burrows of other animals, in rock crevices, or hollows in and around trees.

2. Some fairy stories, such as Beauty And The Beast, can be traced back thousands of years.
