World's Kitchen

This theme encouraged the children to think about how we trade with other countries, the importance of the Fair Trade movement and how we can help other countries, even if they are miles away from us.

 

We also experimented with Dances from around the world, and our performance of Achy Breaky Heart, complete with cowboy hats, was fantastic!

 

Art gave us the opportunity to explore the work of a ceramic artist, who specialised in creating pieces based around fruit and vegetables.  We built up our skills slowly and then produced a final piece of clay work.  We were all thrilled with our results!

 

In science, we turned our attention to electricity and investigated how to create circuits, switches within circuits and change the amount of light a bulb could produce.
