Spring 1- Donutting

The winter Olympics-

Healthy Lifestyles

This half term, Frogs learnt all about what it is like to be an athlete in the Olympics.

We began by thinking about the athlete's healthy diets.

We learnt about a young boy called Fussy Frankie, who had never eaten a fruit or vegetable! Our job was to help Frankie have a healthy diet and we did this through writing a persuasive leaflet and making him some healthy meals.

We enjoyed practising our cutting, peeling and chopping skills in Design and Technology and encouraging Frankie to make his meals healthier by showing him ways he could do this...

Later in the half term, we learnt about different ways that athletes keep active.

Each afternoon, we improved our stamina by running around the playground.

"I could only run around the playground twice at the beginning but at the end of the half term I ran 10 laps!"

We also LOVED our school trip, where we got to try out a real life winter sport! We went DONUTTING!

"I felt like I was flying!"

"I was scared at the beginning because it was hard to get up to the top but, once I got how you do it, I loved going down again and again!"

We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed sliding down the slopes! smiley
