Squirrels - Year R

Summer 2023

The Summer term has been really exciting, as we have taken part in our first sports day. Everyone has a wonderful morning and we had a lovely picnic with our grown ups to celebrate at the end.

We were very excited to have been invited to sing to the customers and our local Memory cafe at the community centre. We sang them our favourite rhymes and songs. many of the customers joined in too.

We have been developing our music skills and learning about pitch and tempo. We have enjoyed performing our music to the other groups.

We are proud of our Monster phonic skills. We have been learning to write sentences using tricky words. Reading a variety of words and creating our own word art.

We have enjoyed looking at the work of other artists and created our own art in their style. One artist we have been looking closely at is Yayoi Kusama. We have even found books that show the work of our artist.

Spring 2023

This term we have been developing our story language. We have enjoyed reading and retelling many stories including Jack and the Beanstalk and The Gingerbread Man.

We have enjoyed retelling the stories in the garden, and building props to help with the story telling. This group were building the giants castle.

Our maths has been linked to our stories and have been busy measuring and comparing heights of bean stalks.

We have also been counting the golden eggs the goose laid.

We wanted to grow our own beanstalks, we found out that only seed beans grow and not the jelly beans!.

SQUIRRELS CLASS

2022

Welcome to Squirrels' Class Page Autumn 2022

The Squirrels have got off to a great start at Mill Hill Primary. They have been busy discovering their new learning environments, navigating the school buildings and making lots of new friends.

All the children are very proud of their self portraits they did of themselves wearing their new school uniforms. Wearing our uniforms makes us feel grown up and ready for learning.
