Autumn 1 - India

In Autumn 1 we enjoyed learning all about India. We began by looking at where India was situated on a world map, identifying the countries that border it and the oceans that surround it. We imagined that we went on a trip to the capital, New Dehli, and visited some of the famous landmarks that can be found there like The Lotus Temple and The Indian Gate. Mrs Shaw even brought in some Indian food. We enjoyed trying bhajis, samosas and chutneys! While India was a little too far away to visit ourselves, we were lucky enough to have a visit from Mrs Anderson, who has visited India a number of times. She showed us special outfits, holiday photos and shared stories about her adventures.

We walked to our local ASDA to learn about food that comes from India. We learned about produce that comes from India and also saw spices and ingredients commonly used in Indian cooking. It was such a fun day.
