Wild Rivers

During Autumn 1, we had a focus on geography which was about rivers. We looked at rivers worldwide and locally.

We developed our knowledge on some key vocabulary:-

  • meander
  • estuary
  • brackish
  • erosion
  • mouth
  • tributaries

To develop our geography understanding for this subject, we went on a school visit to Chichester, where we measured the depth of a local river. We also, learned how to play pooh sticks, as this showed us which direction the water was moving.

One of our final activities, was to look at the structure of a river and to name the different parts.
