The unit for this half term was “Living Things and their Habitats,” during which the children learned how classification keys can help to group, identify and name a wide variety of living things in the local environment and how environments change – this may pose dangers and have an impact on the living things.

In addition, we began our Longitudinal Study, which we are going to return to each half term, over the course of this year.  We have been set the task of investigating how the time it gets dark changes over the year, why it is different in different parts of the world and how this links to the orbit of the Earth in space.

Mrs Symes is taking photographs of her garden, at the same time, at different points during the year and we are going to use this to help us answer the investigation.
