Welcome to the Parent, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA), also known as the ‘Friends of Mill Hill’ section!

The primary purpose of the Friends is to assist the school to advance the education of the pupils at Mill Hill Primary by:
  • Fundraising for the school
  • Helping at events
  • Acting as a link between teachers and parents
  • Arranging social activities for the children and their families
  • Purchasing additional items and equipment for use by the children which is not provided by Statutory funds
Every year the Friends organise events for all the family to enjoy. The main fundraising events are usually the Summer and Christmas Fairs, with a few small events happening in between. The Friends are always looking for new fantastic fundraising ideas, so if you have any suggestion or recommendation, please do let us know.

Welcome to 2014/2015!!

As a new school year starts, we would like to introduce our new committee and say a big welcome to our new Head Teacher, Mrs Roxanne Vines. We hope she will have an enjoyable start to her (hopefully) long career at Mill Hill Primary School and we look forward to working with her to plan exciting events and raise funds for the children of Mill Hill.

The above members of the PTA are classed as the “active” members and if you need to talk to someone about an event or a suggestion as to how you can help, then please find one of us on the playground or in the school.

We have a number of parents, grandparents, relatives, friends who help out every year at events, and we would like to pass on our continued thanks and gratitude to those who all become involved. If you would like to become more involved this year, from helping to distribute leaflets to running a stall at our fairs, then please pop along to one of our monthly meetings to have a chat and see what help you can give. Meetings are informal, a chance to have a catch up over tea and biscuits and will take place so far as possible at 2.15 pm on the last Friday of each month.

We also have a Facebook group where we are able to share ideas and information, which can be found by searching in Facebook under "Friends of Mill Hill". Please feel free to request to join this group where you can also be kept updated as to events and news and can use as a portal for making suggestions.

Previous Successes  - an online fundraising facility which has allowed us thus far to earn over £50 of FREE MONEY for Mill Hill Primary School. We all shop online at one stage or another, be it for car/house/travel insurance or to make Christmas purchases. Please take a look at the above website and see how easy it is to sign up and start raising vital funds for the children of Mill Hill. No personal details are shared. You are no asked to give any money. The retailers themselves donate a percentage of the money you spend with them to Mill Hill Primary School. So please, take a look and sign up, without even realising you could be raising funds and helping us. Many thanks in advance.

Christmas Fair 2014

Well what another fantastic event! Starting with the honour of having the Lord Mayor of Havant opening the event at 11 am with Santa and The News in attendance, to the drawing of the raffle with our grand prize donated by Beals estate agents again, and many other fantastic family prizes. This year our grotto was run by Linda Ann Photography and Santa was more than happy to come along and meet all the children of Mill Hill Primary and thier friends and family who came along to join in the festivities. And we are proud to annouce a profit of £950 to help contribute towards new guided reading books to benefit all the children in the school! Well done to everyone involved, thanks to all the parents, relatives, staff, stallholders, A Different Beat, Linda Ann Photography, the Lord Major of Havant, The News, and of course Santa! Well done!!

Autumn Shopping Evening 2014
What a successful event with £500 raised to start fundraising towards new literacy books to benefit the whole school. Thanks to everyone involved for help leading up to and during the evening - parents, teachers, stallholders, relatives - and thanks to everyone who came and spent thier hard earned cash! You will see a new fundraising thermometer in the hallway to the main hall which shows where we are with fundraising for the new literacy books, with a fabulous start from this event.

Macmillan Coffee Event  and After School Cake Sale
What a successful event this was, and at last count we managed to raise over £100 for this worthy cause! Thank you to everyone who came along and helped set up, helped buy cakes and helped tidy up. The two competitions will be drawn next week (to try and get a few more people to take part!!) and hopefully the winner will be announced at Friday's assembly.

2013 – 2014 was a hugely successful year for fundraising for Mill Hill Primary School with the introduction of our (now very popular) shopping evening and our fun packed Christmas and Summer Fairs. In between these events, the Friends organised a Halloween Event, Macmillan Coffee Event, Discos, Mothers and Fathers Day Parties. We raised in excess of £3,000 last year and were able to buy new curtains for the school hall, table tennis tables, karaoke machines, revision books for Year 6, school kit with logo for sports events, high visibility vests for outings on foot, balance bikes, to name but a few!

We hope to carry on with our past successes and mention of quiz evenings, fashion shows, pamper evenings, fish and chip evenings all being talked about, so watch this space for hopefully another action packed year!

Friends of Mill Hill

What a great night we had with so many children (and adults!) dancing the night away! Pizza and sweet bags sold out in record time and the refreshments just kept on selling. Thank you to everyone who came along and enjoyed themselves, and thank you to the teachers, Friends and staff who stayed on the day to help before, during and after the event. Whilst our school discos aren't primarily a profit making event, simply an event for the children to have a good time, we are pleased to announce that we did in fact make a profit of £104 today which is a start of fundraising towards new reading books for the children's learning. So thank you once again to all who came and all who were involved. Your support is greatly appreciated.

How fantastic was our summer fair this year?! With fabulous music from A Different Beat again, fun class stalls for all the children to test their skills on, great stallholders and playbus, laser arena and bouncy castle, as well our our fabulous raffle and tombola! Although the rain put a stop to us proceeding with the event outside, the sun eventually shone and drew the crowds through the door! What can we say? These events are for the children of Mill Hill and it was just lovely to see them all enjoying themselves so much, and with the money we raised on the day (over £1,000) we were able to purchase sports kits with the school's logo embroidered on, and hi-viz tabards for when the kids walk to Waterlooville, etc. Thank you to everyone who was involved for making it such a great day again, we look forward to the next one!

The day was a huge success and everyone enjoyed themselves.
It goes without saying that these events would not be possible without the hard work, commitment and generosity of many people. First of all i would like to thank the teachers, LSA’s and staff who gave up their valuable time to assist and ensure the event was safe and enjoyable. Secondly we would like to extend our gratitude to all who came to the Fayre and spent their hard earned money.
Another big thank you to all the PTA members and friends and family who helped to prepare for the event, help during the event and who helped with the clearing up afterwards.

We’d also like to give a BIG thank you to A Different Beat for joining us on Saturday and providing some fantastic live music at our School Christmas Fair. It was the icing on the cake to a wonderful day with so many compliments about you guys being passed around. Everyone loved the fact you had music to suite whatever taste and age. Would love to have you join us at future events, and will definitely be recommending you to everyone we know. THANKS!!

We raised a massive profit of just under £950.00, which is AMAZING!!!!

BIG MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who made this evening such a success! Thank you to all our stallholders, who have been very patient putting up with my barrage of emails, for providing some fantastic gifts for sale (wish I had more time to shop for my self lol!) and for coming along. Thank you to all the members of the PTA who came along and especially to Tracie for her fantastic help on the evening, and also to my sister Jenna Ford for putting up with me during these last couple of months of organising! BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came and spent all their hard earned cash! Without you guys these events wouldn't be possible, and it goes without saying that we are extremely grateful to you all.
We raised a grand total of £345.25, for the children at Mill Hill Primary School which is just amazing.

WOW!!!!!  a fantastic £200.50 raised from the Halloween Party.

What a fab party enjoyed by all, especially the children. A massive thank you to all who helped with preparations before, during and after the party.

On behalf of all the Mill Hill PTA, I would just like to say a BIG, THANK YOU, to everyone who came to our Summer Fayre, to all who helped out in the preparations before the day and to all who volunteered their time to help on the day, without you the day would not have been a huge success, so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I hope you all had as much fun as i did!

We raised a massive £777.61 for the school which is just fantastic!

Photos have also been uploaded onto the school website.
